Who Does This Work?
Those who gather the courage to take the next step and join this work discover something unexpected: despite their differences, they forge the closest friendships. What brings them together runs deeper than age, culture, or circumstance, for it is rooted in the very core of their being.
Why Did You Choose this Life?
The idea of reincarnation is spoken of all too lightly, especially in modern spiritual circles. “I must have been a mother in a previous life,” or “I’m sure I was a dog in a past existence.” This is said with the same certainty we recount yesterday’s events, and this casual attitude erodes our understanding.
Miami 2025
Join us in Miami for a rich weekend with two parallel investigations: the intimate psychological portraits of 17th-century Dutch masters and the profound limitations of divine intervention.
Six Mythological Keys
The ancient Greeks created their gods and heroes, not for mere entertainment, but as precise maps of human psychology. Each myth encoded specific insights about our inner workings—our struggles with identity, our relationship to higher influences, and the eternal conflict between our mechanical nature and our potential for transformation.
Athens 2025
Join us in Athens to explore the foundations of Western civilization. We will survey the mathematical precision of the temples of the Acropolis, the hillside theaters where the first dramatic performances took place, sculptures of long-forgotten deities, and the sacred site of the Oracle at Delphi. We will aim to understand how the ancient Greeks conveyed and preserved their wisdom in architecture, sculpture, and dramatic works—wisdom whose relevance continues to pulse through our lives today.
Law of 3 & 7
Explore the cosmic architecture that shapes our inner and outer worlds in this intensive six-day online workshop. The Laws of Three and Seven, known in ancient wisdom traditions, represent universal principles that govern everything from celestial mechanics to human psychology. Each day, we’ll delve more deeply into practical applications of these laws through guided exercises and group discussions.
Beyond Automation
Two weeks ago, 32 practitioners of the Old New Method convened in Rome for a week-long gathering. It has long been our tradition to meet twice each year in different locations around the world, particularly places of historic relevance to our teaching.
Identification
Identification is one of the most pervasive and limiting features of our psychology. It occurs when we become wholly absorbed in whatever captures our attention, losing ourselves in the process. This abandonment of our sense of self is diametrically opposed to self-remembering. Self-remembering is precisely the attempt to experience both the ‘I’ and the ‘here’ of ‘I am here.’
Gurdjieff’s Enneagram
Join us to explore the connection between celestial bodies and human temperament. This cosmic knowledge originated with ancient Mesopotamian priest-astronomers who first observed planetary movements as divine patterns influencing human affairs. The seven celestial bodies—Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn—were each considered to govern distinct aspects of human character, creating recognizable psychological types. These types are still embedded in our language as “mercurial,” “jovial,” or “saturnine.”
Rome 2025
Rome reveals itself in layers, like an archaeological excavation of time. The magnificent Baroque and Renaissance monuments that dominate the city’s skyline give way to earlier Christian churches below, which themselves were often built directly on top of Roman temples and civic structures.
Ending 2024
In December, the farmer brings the year’s harvest to the table for the end-of-year feast, recalling the labors that made this moment possible. Looking back through the seasons at the many efforts invested, some always stand out in bold outline because they were especially joyful, difficult, or both. The same holds true for this past year in our school.
Self-Remembering
During this three-day gathering, we will explore both the theoretical foundation and practical application of self-remembering, while examining the internal resistance that naturally arises when we attempt this work.
